Bye-bye, October!

While reading Assassination Classroom, this funny-serious talk with my little sis came to mind. I asked, “If you somehow became a lawyer or a judge and I turned into a criminal, would you punish me?” I really thought she’d say yes, but she looked like she might cry. I just said, “Where’s the Elyza who used to lecture me about right and wrong?” Do what you gotta do, even if it’s me.

Just know the ones who actually get you don’t catch feelings just ‘cause you chose differently.

I’m kinda sounding like my father, haha.

 

So anyway, just read a few mangas today…

I tried to assassinate him after school but he started tutoring me in math 🤣

Nah. I look at this way… Being everyone’s target proves how powerful I am.

I can see that you’re a little too concerned with pleasing those around you… Personally, I want to know what has value to YOU, not what people SAY is valuable.

One day I realized something. If I were to die… I was afraid that the things I learned from him  - courage, determination, friendship… all those precious memories would disappear from the world. So, if you also have a precious memory living inside you… I think it would be wasted if you were to die.

So many volume 1s to read, I wonder why I don’t just watch anime sometimes. If I ever go a day without reading, I’m most likely just watching manga hauls or book recs on YouTube. Still, that’s like 0.1% of what I’m about.

Roomie’s been nagging me to rest ‘cause I’ve been sick for like three days now, but who are we kidding, it’s me, of course I begged her to let me read a lil bit tho. She’s kinda like the police. I’m mostly goofing off, obviously.

The two Mushi in the story, ‘Ah’, and ‘Un’, are the two characters in a Japanese word ‘oun’. This word is most commonly used in the phrase ‘oun no kokyuu’ which literally means inhaling and exhaling, but indicates that two things work together perfectly. You more into books or manga? Tbh, I just read ‘cause it’s fun. Got a bunch I still haven’t read, but I’m hella hyped. I really love that surprise feeling when something I thought I wouldn’t like ends up being a fave, kinda like Sun-Ken Rock and Dungeon Crawler Carl. Bet you got a surprise fave too. 😍

I never considered myself a big fan of cats. But, if we’re being truthful here, I liked Donut. That cat did not give two shits about anybody or anything 🤣

Hot day, huh? So I chopped up some strawberries and dropped them straight into a chilled apple tea. Now I’m chowing down on toast while I pick which manga or Japanese novel’s gonna eat up all my free time today.

Idk why but, you ever check when a book came out or not really? For some reason, I always peek at when a book was published before I read it. Kinda like how Kiki’s Delivery Service was from 1985 and got retranslated in 2020, and Tomie by Junji Ito first showed up in 1987. Ah well, maybe it’s just fun to think back on some random year and cringe a little (okay, a lot).

 

 

“Hey, Kiki, did you get anything as a thank-you?” Jiji asked. “What are you talking about? I had so much fun! What could I possibly ask for after that?”

My friend Tomie is dead. Pieces of her body were found scattered everywhere. I hear some are still missing. She was just chopped to bits.

Kiddo, I’ve Got Your Back

It’s so peaceful right now, probably ‘cause my lil sis hasn’t escaped school yet. Elyza kinda confessed yesterday she’s off the top 3 list, and I was honestly shocked. So I asked what went wrong. She goes, the lessons got harder and felt twice as long and I haven’t been there to help her like before. I didn’t say a word after that.

Planning a little snack run with her later. Besides, rankings aren’t my thing as long as she’s learning and still outsmarting me in finances. Still, it’s easy to point fingers when you lose, but managing it yourself is what really levels you up. I’m cool with not stepping in, honestly. How much I’m betting on you is sky-high, Elyza, like Goku betting everything on Gohan.

So my roommate’s making a surprise birthday video for her special someone and I somehow ended up writing the script. It kinda made me think of someone out of the blue. Might bump into Yang. Eh, who knows.

 

Back in My Bubble

I’m in the middle of three books right now. One’s by a neuroscientist, another by a geneticist, and a Keigo Higashino thriller ’cause my brain needs the hype. Then it’s Japanese lessons tomorrow, woohoo! And if I haven’t passed out yet, I’ll treat myself to just one of these books: Kimi no Na wa, Wolf Children, Weathering with You, Violet Evergarden, or Kiki’s Delivery Service. Let’s see what eeny meeny miny moe picks for me. ◕‿◕

But naturally, that person has no clue. Timing’s rubbish, and maybe it’s just always like that. Anyways, I was in my usual hideout during break, and out of nowhere, I see a face I’d never even imagined showing up here. I mean, holy crap, that sunny face in this gloomy corner! And I can’t tell if this is epic fail or epic win, ‘cause I was just sitting on the floor when Yang plopped down right next to me.

Saturday Escapade

Not me spending Saturday at the ER with an iced vanilla latte. A buddy needed backup for a hospital trip in Makati, so I just went with her and the shower never even happened. She’s stuck at the hospital for six hours of observation, which gives me the perfect excuse to chill, either by flipping through my favorite manga, Blue Lock, or grabbing a random Japanese book. And since hikikomori Iya’s actually out, might as well people-watch. And just my luck, two good-looking docs walked by, haha.

Just finished this one

JU’ON. The curse of a person who dies while holding a very strong hatred or rage.

Whoa, didn’t think this book would be so philosophical! Gotta say, if I were a book, I’d be this one or straight-up Crayon Shin-chan LOL.

People tend to think that personal matters should be spoken about with those who are close friends, lovers or family members. But since starting this do-nothing service, I’ve learned that there are a lot of important things that can be talked about with people you don’t know very well or even at all. Depth of discussion and depth of relationship don’t always go hand in hand.

 

A baby isn’t just cute. It makes clear what it likes and what it doesn’t. If you feed it things it doesn’t like, it spits them out… It makes me wonder why it is that adults shouldn’t just live as they like.
