Kiddo, I’ve Got Your Back

It’s so peaceful right now, probably ‘cause my lil sis hasn’t escaped school yet. Elyza kinda confessed yesterday she’s off the top 3 list, and I was honestly shocked. So I asked what went wrong. She goes, the lessons got harder and felt twice as long and I haven’t been there to help her like before. I didn’t say a word after that.

Planning a little snack run with her later. Besides, rankings aren’t my thing as long as she’s learning and still outsmarting me in finances. Still, it’s easy to point fingers when you lose, but managing it yourself is what really levels you up. I’m cool with not stepping in, honestly. How much I’m betting on you is sky-high, Elyza, like Goku betting everything on Gohan.

So my roommate’s making a surprise birthday video for her special someone and I somehow ended up writing the script. It kinda made me think of someone out of the blue. Might bump into Yang. Eh, who knows.

 

Back in My Bubble

I’m in the middle of three books right now. One’s by a neuroscientist, another by a geneticist, and a Keigo Higashino thriller ’cause my brain needs the hype. Then it’s Japanese lessons tomorrow, woohoo! And if I haven’t passed out yet, I’ll treat myself to just one of these books: Kimi no Na wa, Wolf Children, Weathering with You, Violet Evergarden, or Kiki’s Delivery Service. Let’s see what eeny meeny miny moe picks for me. ◕‿◕

But naturally, that person has no clue. Timing’s rubbish, and maybe it’s just always like that. Anyways, I was in my usual hideout during break, and out of nowhere, I see a face I’d never even imagined showing up here. I mean, holy crap, that sunny face in this gloomy corner! And I can’t tell if this is epic fail or epic win, ‘cause I was just sitting on the floor when Yang plopped down right next to me.

Saturday Escapade

Not me spending Saturday at the ER with an iced vanilla latte. A buddy needed backup for a hospital trip in Makati, so I just went with her and the shower never even happened. She’s stuck at the hospital for six hours of observation, which gives me the perfect excuse to chill, either by flipping through my favorite manga, Blue Lock, or grabbing a random Japanese book. And since hikikomori Iya’s actually out, might as well people-watch. And just my luck, two good-looking docs walked by, haha.

Just finished this one

JU’ON. The curse of a person who dies while holding a very strong hatred or rage.

Whoa, didn’t think this book would be so philosophical! Gotta say, if I were a book, I’d be this one or straight-up Crayon Shin-chan LOL.

People tend to think that personal matters should be spoken about with those who are close friends, lovers or family members. But since starting this do-nothing service, I’ve learned that there are a lot of important things that can be talked about with people you don’t know very well or even at all. Depth of discussion and depth of relationship don’t always go hand in hand.

 

A baby isn’t just cute. It makes clear what it likes and what it doesn’t. If you feed it things it doesn’t like, it spits them out… It makes me wonder why it is that adults shouldn’t just live as they like.

I wasn’t posting much last month. Someone I really respected passed away, and it honestly left me feeling empty for a while. Yesterday, while I was writing down my goals, Elyza’s bunny launched a surprise attack and bit me. Now I’ve got a tetanus shot to go with my goals. It just goes to show you never know what life’s gonna throw at you.

Anyway, I’m skipping the sad mood to dedicate this project I’ve been tinkering with to you. I’m bringing what you taught me along for the ride, and every time I figure things out, I’ll think of you and smile big like Luffy.

I told myself I’d sort my reading pile, yet sloth iya was already off in a daydream, slurping spicy ramen in a faraway Japanese stall. Isn’t life just better lying on the floor reading manga instead of caring about tidying up when I never do? Nah, I’m good.

Someday soon, I’ll have my own little café with shelves loaded with mangas. Right now, I’m enjoying the whole figuring-it-out stage. Guess that’s why my inner monologue talks more than I do with actual humans. Anywho… small talk’s fine, it’s just not my lane ’cause I mostly just listen.

Anyways, reading all this Super Mario stuff made me think, maybe I should check out Super Nintendo World in Japan and the Nintendo Museum… but for now, just on YouTube, lol. If I make it as an interpreter or translator, that’s my treat.

I’m down for laughing too loudly and having fun, but solitude is god mode. The more alone time I get, the more alive I feel. You know that feeling when you look at the ocean or sky and just feel lighter? Pretty much me. I just know I’m happiest in my own company. Not everyone’s built like that.

While brain storming in their small office, they were thinking of game ideas and names for this little guy. The office owner then came in and demanded that he get rent money for the office space that they were using. Working on getting a game out there and distributed, the landlord made a big scene while demanding the late rent money. His name? Mario. The staff members then started joking and calling the little Jump Man, Mario. He looked somewhat the same, had the same overalls and the same appearance, so to this day, that’s how Mario is known.

I was just watching comic book collectors on my laptop when my roommate’s guest, who stopped by, casually slides me wildberry and four red fruits tea bags. Didn’t expect a random tea drop-off to be this good (omg gimme more), and we ended up having a little chat about tea flavors, intermittent fasting, and she’s the first person I’ve ever spilled my Japanese translator game plan to, even though we’re barely friends. Shrugs.

Anyways, back to my comics and manga vidz.
