She’s My Soft Spot, and Research Is the Wild Ride I’m On

Ever had lunch with someone who talks more than they chew?
That’s my adorable sister.

Yup, it’s me again, casually slurping buko juice and snacking on boiled eggs. When my little sister makes herself comfy next to me like, “I gotta tell you what happened in my games!” She knows I’m not into it, but tells me anyway like I’m her #1 fan. I don't need to understand the games. I just need to understand the sparkle in her eyes when she starts her game rants.

Nature’s way of saying, ‘Why not both?’

Earlier, I was glued to a Chinese mystery series and found out about gynandromorphism, a rare butterfly phenomenon where one side’s male and the other’s female. Yin and yang, but with butterfly swagger.

The Best Kind of Bond

Blasting My Fave Thai Song πŸ”Š 🎡

Dancing like the girl with the long black hair in the video, singing like I’m in love, all while snacking on frozen cake and iced milk.

I’m vibing in my main character moment
when my sister pops in, her face a picture of innocence,
and says, “Mind helping me find my rabbit?”

Wherefore Art Thou, Rabbit?
I halted my song and froze my dance,
all for thee!

Mine own sibling, the yang to my yin,
Dost keep things playful with a cheeky spin.

A Silent Love

There you are on the bus, so tired, and even though I don’t usually pray, I just want you safe, that’s all. Wherever you are, may you be safe, especially on nights out. I pray that caring souls are always there for you.

May the love that finds you be a gift, not an exchange. The kind that says, I wish you a happy life. Love is neither a transaction (where you expect something in return) nor a condition (based on give and take). Love, as I’ve learned, is freedom, a lesson my biological father instilled in me. Regardless of whether I’m part of your world or someone else holds your heart, your joy is still my greatest wish.

You’re my favorite soul,
not for your looks,
but for what you feel like within.

To others,
you may seem like
the ultimate combination.

I do not see you
as others see you.

With One Hand Pressed to My Heart, I Have Loved You Quietly.

“The Sorrow, the Grace, the Humor”

Your eyes were a silent cry despite the smile on your lips. You held a smile, even as you fell apart like a wineglass in slow motion. In that quiet sorrow, I saw your heart kneeling in prayer. You bleed, yes, but you still carry the devil so gracefully.

I, however, speak to him like we’re both in on a joke, while sipping on a chilled glass of orange juice, as my little sister casually munches on ice cubes.

“Companionship Without Ownership”

Love is not a rescue mission.
Saving is ego’s way of pretending it’s a lifeguard,
because it sees someone as broken.

We may bend, my darling,
but we never break.

Saving is ego.
Seeing is loving without editing.

One believes,
"You're incomplete without me."
The other whispers,
"You are not alone, my friend."

One is a cage
dressed as care.

The other is an altar that says,
"Whether you come or go, your freedom remains."

13th April 2025, 3:15 in the early morning

“Some Things Lose Their Magic When Explained”

Love, they said, would make words
pour out like rain.

Instead, I just close my eyes,
and sigh your name like it's a prayer.

Before you, I wrote to explore my emotions.
Now, I write because you’ve turned them
into a beautiful mystery.

"And I thought… would I do the same?"

I’ve seen enough Thai series
to start my own fan club,
but this one made me
hit pause and feel something.

He waited a hundred years,
but what he longed for wasn’t her face,
her voice, or the way she moved.

No.
He longed for the soul that once felt like home,
and the wordless way she made everything feel okay.

His soul recognized hers,
what therapy calls unconscious familiarity,
regardless of the form she wore:
a man’s body.

This is the secret to love that most never understand.

You do not need to question the warmth that flows through you with each sip of coffee. It simply is.

Love, in the same way, cannot be dissected like a frog in a science class.

A Story That Ends Where It Begin

I’m learning Thai for love,
so my brain is a hostage, and my heart is the kidnapper.

Love didn’t just change my mind,
it hacked my entire operating system.

When my brain starts working again,
I’ll be composing heartbreak ballads,
but swearing like a taxi driver in rush hour.

Who’s in charge here—
Cupid, a drunk screenwriter, or my horoscope?

The answer was in the first line all along.

Thai: A Script My Heart Already Reads

Learning Thai because my dear friend from high school and I are plotting a Thailand adventure—just in case she pulls a disappearing act in Bangkok and I wake up on a boat with a guy named Uncle Pong. At the very least, I’d like to know whether I’m being sold or adopted. 🀣

Welp, no hiding it—we’re just two fools considering crossing borders for love. This will either be the most romantic thing we ever do or the most delusional. No in-between. ✈️

Love is both delightful and dangerous.
Both reckless and wise.

Love is a paradox.
It does not follow logic—
it destroys logic.

It is sweet as honey.
Yet it burns like fire.

It makes you lose yourself...
Only to find yourself anew.

Two Stars: A Cosmic Connection

Music would play, and as memories of my mother surfaced, my father would close his eyes. It was like he could see her there, in the space between the notes. His face would soften, almost smiling, and he'd drift. There was something about the music—how it wasn’t just sound, but a place, a home,
a gentle tide pulling him beyond this world. It wasn’t about what happened, not really.
It was about how it felt. It was the same feeling when you hugged me.

It was like holding a firefly in your hands—
you can’t keep it, but you remember the glow.

Two Stars, One Epic Meet-Up

Perhaps it wasn’t about mushy love or fluttering butterflies,
but more like finding a missing piece of my heart,
like looking at someone and thinking,
Ah, there you are!
It’s like two stars bumping into each other
in the vast, endless sky—
a connection so strong,
it feels like we were already friends before we met.
Maybe you’re not the love I imagined,
but a long-lost friend found in the most unexpected way.
🌷

In time, we’ll meet again,
whether in this life or the next.
The universe already hit the “send” button on our paths,
like two stars bound to crash into each other,
and when we do,
we’ll create something amazing, something new.

Happy Valentine’s Day! If love is in the air, I must be breathing something else. πŸ–πŸ”₯πŸ˜‚

Morning Negotiations
Held a board meeting with my heart, muscles, lungs, joints, and legs. I demanded an hour-long walk, but my brain insisted on an all-you-can-eat snack buffet in return. Deal done before WiFi even realized it had been left behind.

Who needs exercise when the brain is just here for the snacks?

Ice cream thoughts: Just here for the ice cream, not the adulting.
The sun is melting like expensive butter, the sea’s vibing like it’s the weekend, and for once, humans aren't glued to their screens.

Dogs swagger, kids squeal, and joggers pretend their knees don’t hurt. Some walk alone like main characters, others wander solo, trying to remember where they left their phone, some wander like poets lost in thought, and some walk shirtless, flexing so hard even the Roman gods take notes.

Some cycle like they’re escaping a Zoom meeting that never ends, others sit in the sand, slowly becoming one with their snacks, and others lie down, avoiding drama like it’s a family reunion. Then, of course, there are those clutching their partners like they’re the last two people alive in a rom-com.

I’m over here trying to write a mystery, but apparently my giggles are the plot twist.

7:00 PM, when the evening dropped the script and wrote its own plot twist.

As the BBQ sizzles and the air dances with smoky flavor, two guys are serenading the air with a love song, all while chugging beer. I hummed along, softly, to keep my liver from becoming their next victim. πŸΊπŸŽΆπŸ˜‚

Awkwardly Ever After

Making Awkward Look Good
Life’s finest moments: when the sky kisses the earth goodbye, deep conversations, and the sweet horror of waving back, only to realize it wasn’t meant for me—or like walking into a room, realizing I forgot my pants, and then laughing instead of panicking.
🀭

I’ll tell my grandkids this tragic tale, like The Tortoise and The Hare—but far worse. Embracing the awkward, unnoticed vibe, I’ll laugh at how beautifully imperfect it all was. Now that’s how you turn an ordinary day into a bittersweet tale wrapped in charm.

Lunch break epiphany: Zen in a Sandwich
πŸžπŸ’‘πŸ˜†
As I shove a sandwich into my mouth, eyes glued to my laptop, I start thinking—there’s a charm that doesn’t need to break a sweat to get noticed. Like someone walks in, and the lights dim just to give them space. Some fight for the spotlight like it’s the last seat on a crowded subway; you, however, are the subway, the seat, and the entire station.

A Day in the Life of an Expert Procrastinator

Morning: 😎 Woke up like a pancake.

Evening:
Look back, realize I’ve done nothing, but hey, at least no one can say I didn’t try.

Tomorrow:
I’ll walk, not for exercise, but to remind my bones they’re still on the team.

Overall:
I like my days like I like my snacks: unexpected and like a surprise party every time.

Tempus fugit, sed ego moror.
(Time flies, but I delay.)
